SUMMARY:Showcase of ideas emerging from Re-Imagine Dingle Peninsula Workshop
DESCRIPTION:In June\, the Dingle Creativity and Innovation Hub ran a collaborative workshop in association with Imagination of Things to imagine and shape new possibilities for the Dingle Peninsula. Members of the community from a range of different sectors joined us to unlock ideas to start shaping a new future. An overview of the workshop and the concepts that emerged can be found at www.dinglepeninsula2030/re-imagine  The workshop was an important building block for the creation of a collective\, inclusive vision for the peninsula. But it was just one part of the journey. We would now like to share those ideas with you and invite you to join us online on Tuesday\, October 6th from 7-8pm to hear what is possible to enhance our community and our lives on this beautiful peninsula. So many of you have skills\, expertise and networks that could help turn these ideas into reality and you would be very welcome to join this journey and contribute to an idea that is of interest to you. \nRegister here \nA recording of this event is available here

SUMMARY:Athshamhlú Corca Dhuibhne / Re-imagine Dingle Peninsula
DESCRIPTION:We Need Imagination Now More Than Ever.  \n\n\nDingle Creativity and Innovation Hub launches a collaborative workshop in an effort to imagine and shape new possibilities for the Dingle Peninsula. Creativity\, Innovation\, Resilience. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA remote & virtual workshop to gather people interested and committed to explore new possibilities for the Dingle Peninsula. It’s an opportunity to do better than just adapt or react to this new environment infused by recent uncertainty\, but to start fostering how we might thrive by shaping it.\nWe believe imagination — the capacity to create\, evolve\, and experience things or situations that don’t yet exist — is the crucial factor in seizing and creating new opportunities\, and finding new paths to growth.\nWhat can emerge when people working in different sectors start collaborating and inventing hybrid solutions for their future together? What are the new\, local\, and fresh insights that the Dingle Peninsula could actually bring to this new accelerated digital transformation?\n  \nWhat?\nIt’s a collaborative workshop experience where we will imagine alternative scenarios and infuse ideas for new concepts and inventions around topics relevant to the Peninsula: sustainability\, agriculture\, food production\, technology\, energy\, tourism\, entrepreneurship\, heritage and culture among others. A series of creative exercises within a playful journey to spark innovation and suspend our disbelief about change. Community driven innovation. The result will later receive design direction and will be showcased.\nThe workshop is designed and facilitated by www.imaginationofthings.com.\n  \nWhen?\n13:30 – 16:30 Friday 19 June: Creative Exercises & Work Session\nSaturday 20 June & Sunday 21 June: Groups work independently and each one has a session with Imagination of Things for feedback & consultation. Each group can organize their time accordingly.\n13:30 – 17:00 Monday 22 June: Building Concepts & Wrap-up\n  \nTotal time commitment: Around 10h over 4 days.\nRegister: Email info@dinglehub.com to join us and be part of re-imagining the change

SUMMARY:NEWKD Community Development Workshops
DESCRIPTION:North East West Kerry Development (NEWKD)\nMost recently in 2019 NEWKD has begun a process with (the Gesera Institute and supported by MAReI ) local communities to produce an Integrated Territorial Development Plan for Corca Dhuibhne.  This plan will evolve through public meetings in the peninsula\, supported by the statutory sector and social partners\, will be complementary of other plans and contribute to sustainable territorial development\, in line with best international practice. \nKey Objectives include ;\n\nTo undertake a demographic and socio-economic profile of the peninsula\, so as to establish baselines\, identify development opportunities and to engage stakeholders in advancing evidence-based decision-making;\nTo consult and engage with all relevant stakeholders\, in ensuing strong ownership of the planning process and a commitment to the plan’s delivery;\nTo examine planning and development processes in similar geographies internationally\, so as to promote knowledge transfers\, inter-territorial collaboration and the dissemination of\nexperiences and learnings;\nTo promote connectivity\, collaboration and complementarity with other geographies\, agencies and institutions; and\nTo contribute to policy-making and decision-taking processes and mechanisms that are consistently favourable to the peninsula’s sustainable development.\n\nProcess\nNEWKD has begun to facilitate\, coordinate and guide this process\, ensuring that it reflects the principles of community development\, partnership and collaborative working. The initial focus was on resource mapping and civil society engagement.  Subsequent stages in the process will involve engagement with agencies and the promotion of inter-territorial collaboration (e.g.\, including with Tralee and Uíbh Ráthach).  As the process gathers evidence and momentum\, NEWKD will convene a stakeholder forum\, to oversee the plan’s compilation and delivery \nSummary Findings \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCorca Dhuibhne – Cúlra agus torthaí \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDingle Peninsula – Background and findings
